THE PLAYLIST: featuring Future Teens, La Dispute, Martha, Foxing and more!

May 13, 2019

‍

Well... I didn't mean to take nearly an entire month to update this playlist, but I guess that's how things go when you launch a brand and website and start planning a SXSW showcase and still have your regular client workload to take care of all at the same time! But hey, who knows, maybe you prefer it less often? I think I mentioned this in my last post about the playlist but I am constantly listening to this, too, even after I've shared it with everyone online. It's my go-to during the work days, in the car, at the gym, etc. I purposefully do this so that the moment I start growing tired of listening to the same songs over and over, that's my cue to start putting a new list together.

I also try to make entirely new playlists each time, instead of just adding a few tracks here and there, but you'll notice there are always a few that stay on the playlist in some capacity or another. When you start seeing the same song or artist pop up on multiple updates, do me a favor and PAY ATTENTION. I'm trying to show you something new that I'm really, really excited about, and I'll usually sandwich it in between other artists that are similar in sound/overall vibe to help paint the bigger picture for you.

‍

‍

I do this a couple times on this latest update. For example, I put a young band called Dogleg right in between La Dispute and awakebutstillinbed. I've heard their forthcoming album–– it's incredible. The kind of album that wakes people up and inspires the next generation to follow. Listening to those three tracks in a row should make sense, sonically, and therefore hopefully makes a real impression on YOU to engage further with all of them.

‍

‍

This new update is also the first time I've taken fan/band submissions into consideration!

‍

Normally it's just me scouring my Release Radar playlist on Spotify, as well as Bandcamp and Youtube, to put together a bunch of songs I'm digging at the time. It's still mostly that, but a few weeks back I launched the new COLLABORATIVE edition of my No Earbuds! playlist. It's only available on Spotify, but as long as you have an account (even a free one!), you can add any song you want me to listen to.

‍

‍

Currently the Collab Edition has over 11 hours of music (!!) and I've maaaaaybe cracked through about 2 so far. From that, I found FIVE new songs/bands to add to the playlist; five songs I would've never heard if it weren't for you, so yeah I just think that rocks! Shout out to some new obsessions that I'm really excited to dig deeper into: Ship & Sail, Casanova, Indigo de Souza, Pathos Pathos, and Spielbergs.

‍

‍

‍
So enough from me... get to listening!

As always, you can stream/follow/subscribe/whatever to the playlist on APPLE MUSIC and YOUTUBE, too. I'm working on Amazon and Google Play, I promise!
