Trust me. Lilith is the pop-rock fuzzy indie trio of your dreams, and the moment they’ve been leading up to all summer is here: Safer Off is open for business and their customer service is excellent. Real life best-friends-via-Band-Camp, Hannah, Kelsey, and Adam form the Boston-based outfit, and together they’ve conquered stages with acts like Snail Mail and Diet Cig. Coming out of Boston, they fit right in among other powerhouse alumni from the area like Palehound and Pile.

Safer Off at first glance feels and sounds sunny; Imagine an instagrammable pool party (complete with that one unicorn float) and you match the same feeling that comes from the album’s aesthetic. But underneath, it’s an explorative album that grows with each track and by the end has become more about leaving all of life’s bs (exes, flakey friends, the “industry”) behind than anything else. Track “Lines Align” is a perfect example of what Lilith entails from the hum of harmonized backing vocals to a sparky retort delivered after a smooth, silky build-up.

Whether you’re looking to jam out (“C.O.Y.F”/”I’ll Come Over”) or get a little groovy (“Figure 1 Repeated”/”Coward”), Safer Off is versatile and cunning. There’s something especially charming in the way floating vocals pair with almost surf-rocky sliding riffs that gives Lilith a sound so full that you can’t help but recognize… and listen to again… and get stuck in your head… Forever, but in the best way.
