Philadelphia’s Caracara and Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip will make their collaborative debut with Better, an ambitious new EP that immediately calls to mind the grandiose nature of bands like The National, Explosions In The Sky, and Bon Iver. Its title track features guest vocals from Marisa Dabice of the band Mannequin Pussy, and it’s a song that represents everything that vocalist/guitarist William Lindsay set out to create the day this band was formed.

Better is also home to two more new songs from Caracara, including the infectious“New Chemical Hades” that pulls straight from the band’s love of bands like Slowdive and M-83. A stunning video for the song, directed by Britain Weyant, is out now.

Featuring William Lindsay, Carlos Pacheco-Perez, George Legatos and Sean Gill, the music on both the Better EP and their 2017 debut, Summer Megalith, feels effortlessly magnificent; Pitchfork even heralded the latter as “some of the most immediately cathartic indie rock of recent times.”

Better is out March 29 digitally and April 14 on vinyl via Yip’s own label, Memory Music.
